Privacy Policy & Data Handling
Last updated: 2 June 2026
At PlanetJon, privacy isn’t a compliance checkbox—it’s an extension of the same operational discipline that’s guided my work for over thirty years. If you can’t see how data moves through a system, you can’t secure it. That philosophy starts here: PlanetJon.net collects, stores, or processes zero personal data. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels, and no browser fingerprinting. The site is entirely non-monetized and exists to provide technical analysis, threat intelligence, and system tools, ranging from cybersecurity to space exploration and general technology news.
Infrastructure Logging & Cloudflare
PlanetJon.net operates behind Cloudflare’s network. Because Cloudflare is a distributed content delivery and security layer, your connection will generate standard infrastructure-level logs. This includes your IP address, request timestamps, geographic region, browser user-agent string, and TLS handshake metadata. These data points are processed solely for routing, DDoS mitigation, caching optimization, and automated threat prevention.
I do not have access to these logs, nor does PlanetJon aggregate, sell, or repurpose them. Cloudflare handles this data under their Privacy Policy, and retention is governed by their infrastructure requirements and applicable data protection frameworks. If you’re familiar with zero-trust or attack-surface reduction principles, you’ll recognize this as minimal, ephemeral, and strictly functional logging—exactly what you want in a modern security stack.
Cookies, Tracking & Fingerprinting
PlanetJon.net does not set cookies. There are no session identifiers, no third-party tracking tokens, and no consent banners because there is nothing to consent to. If you observe cookies appearing in your browser, they belong to external services you actively choose to visit (e.g., linked GitHub repositories, vendor documentation portals, or third-party platforms).
Behavioral tracking and device fingerprinting are completely absent. No canvas, audio, or WebGL profiling is injected. No passive enumeration scripts run in the background. If you visit with an ad-blocker, uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, or a hardened browser configuration, nothing will break—because nothing was ever loaded.
Advertising & Monetization
The site is not monetized in any form. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored content, no programmatic ads, and no data brokerage arrangements. Revenue does not influence editorial stance, threat prioritization, or technical recommendations. If you ever see a call-to-action, it will point to open-source tools, vendor documentation, or community resources—not to conversion funnels.
Data Retention & Third-Party Dependencies
Since PlanetJon.net does not collect visitor data, there is no retention schedule to manage. Any third-party services linked from this site operate under their own privacy frameworks, and I recommend reviewing their policies before interacting. External links are provided for technical context, not commercial engagement.
Contact Form Data Handling
PlanetJon.net includes a contact form for straightforward communication. When you submit it, you’ll provide a name, email address, and message. This data is processed transiently—routed directly to my inbox via secure SMTP delivery and not stored in any database, analytics pipeline, or third-party system. Once delivered, the submission is discarded. The form does not track, profile, or retain visitor data for marketing, advertising, or behavioral analysis. It exists solely to facilitate direct, infrastructure-minded communication.
Updates & Contact
This page will only be updated if infrastructure dependencies change or if new external services are introduced. For questions about data handling, you can reach me directly via the contact form. No newsletters, no tracking—just straightforward communication.
Stay secure. Stay curious.
